Part I, LGBT History and Culture Since 1940 includes materials related to the gay rights movement, activism, HIV/AIDS and other issues affecting LGBT communities. Part II contains periodicals, newsletters, manuscripts, government records, organizational papers, correspondence, providing coverage of underrepresented communities including often-excluded groups even within the LGBTQ community. Part III, Sex and Sexuality, Sixteenth to Twentieth Century, explores topics including prostitution, religion, fertility, and the rise of sexology. Part IV, International Perspectives on LGBTQ Activism and Culture, focuses on Africa and Australia with inclusion of materials from Gay and Lesbian Memory in Action (GALA) and Australian Lesbian and Gay Archives-periodical collection. Part VI, Community and Identity in North America, covers activism and social justice issues, highlights disabilities in Queer society, offers information around alternative sexualities, documents interactions between sexuality and religion, and represents diverse ethnic communities across North America.
