Search by Language

This video explains another way to narrow your search results by filtering out languages you cannot understand and leaving those you can read.

Another way to refine search results in the library’s databases is to limit your search by language. This is useful if your search returns results in languages that you cannot read. For example, a search for French author Gustave Flaubert will locate many articles written in German and French. You can quickly reduce this number by limiting your results to English language articles.

There are many different language options available in the Library’s databases. They can usually be found under advanced search options or in the sidebar after conducting a basic search. This limiter can also be useful if you are conducting research for a paper in a foreign language course.
