Biography —
As Librarian for Slavic and Eurasian Studies (2005-present), I acquire materials from many countries in East and Central Europe; provide research and instructional assistance to KU faculty, staff, students, visiting scholars, K-12 community, and the general public; and serve as library liaison to related academic departments and areas studies centers. I actively support the work of the Institute for Globally Engaged Librarianship (IGEL), engage in original research, and serve in local, national, and international professional societies and associations.
As Head of the KU Libraries’ International Collections and Services team (2012-present), I coordinate the team’s collaborative work and within KU Libraries and among other campus units.
As the Editor-in-Chief of Slavic & East European Information Resources (2020-present), I lead the journal’s team of five associate editors and its editorial board.

Research —
My research interests include translation (from Russian to English), bibliography, book trade in the countries of the Slavic and Eurasian (S&E) region, journal publishing, digital research tools, open access publishing, information literacy for S&E studies, and the history and modernization of research libraries in the S&E region 1989-present.
Teaching —
I teach information literacy workshops in support of courses in Slavic & Eurasian studies. I am also interested in Russian language pedagogy and the use of multimedia for building cultural and linguistic competency.
