Instructional Services at the KU Libraries offers support to students working on and submitting their dissertations and theses in several ways:

Workshops

  • Word: Everyday Tasks and Word: Document Enhancement Features - Learn important time-saving features and tools of Word.
  • Word: Long Documents - Learn how to generate a table of contents automatically, build an index, set up special page numbering in your document (using two or more different page numbering styles in the same document), use captions and build a list of figures, and other features of interest to anyone creating longer documents (such as theses, dissertations, grant proposals, book manuscripts, and so on).
  • PDF: Power Hour - Everything you need to know to make a basic PDF, including what tools are available at KU for you to use.
