Audio, Video and Podcasting search engines come in two shapes. There are the major search engines which also offer some multimedia search functionality and there are the newer true multimedia search engines, which seek out everything non-textual on the Web. They are extremely interesting and often can offer some very unique information sources.
Podcast.net is a podcast directory broken down into various subject areas.
Blinx is an audio, video and podcast search engine. Blinx utilizes advanced speech recognition to index multimedia formats on the Web.
Singingfish offers a true multimedia search experience. This search engine looks for mp3 audio as well as media sourced within RealPlayer, Windows and QuickTime.
Hosted by Princeton University, University Channel presents academic material, from numerous universities, in a variety of formats. In addition to podcasts, lectures and presentations are available through streaming video.
Alta Vista is a major search engine which also searches across images, video and mp3 audio.
Another major search engine which offers video, audio and image search functionality.
