Importing References into EndNote

Many of our databases offer the ability to export references, and/or import them into reference management tools like EndNote so that you can easily store them and cite them in your work.

Detailed instructions for importing references from databases available through the KU Libraries are available. Click the dropdown for the tool for EndNote and select the database from which you'd like to import (such as ArticleFirst, ERIC, or PsycInfo). If you do not find the database you are looking for in the dropdown menu it means that at this time there is not a direct export option from this database. Check back monthly because database filters are updated frequently.

Please check out the KU Libraries online citation guide for more information on citation management options and instructions: http://guides.lib.ku.edu/citation . If you need more assistance, email endnote@ku.edu for help.

EndNote Import Filters

If the instructions for a given database don't work for you, you may need to download an updated import filter for that database. EndNote provides these filters free on its web site: http://www.endnote.com/support/enfilters.asp

Be sure to save the filter files in the Filters folder where EndNote is installed (in Windows, this is usually C:\Program Files\EndNoteX_\Filters, on the MAC it is usually found in Applications, EndNote folder, and the Filters subfolder), so that EndNote can find and use them.
