B. Film Indexes Online.
FIO consists of two databases (the American Film Institute catalogs and the Film Index International created by the British Film Institute) that may be searched separately or together. Not necessarily as complete as the Internet Movie Database, but the information here is more authoritative.
A. Film Literature Index (FLI)
The principal index to the international periodical literature of film and television/video.
Coverage: 1973 to present. annually indexes 150 film and television periodicals from 30 countries cover-to-cover and 200 other periodicals selectively for articles on film and television. The periodicals range from the scholarly to the popular. More than 2,000 subject headings provide detailed analysis of the articles.

B. International Index to the Performing Arts (IIPA). ONLINE
IIPA provides an index to 210 journals in the performing arts including film. Full-text is available for some of these journals back to 1998.
C. The MLA International Bibliography ONLINE
Primarily devoted to literature and language, the MLA (Modern Language Association of America) International Bibliography is of some use for the study of ancillary subjects such as folklore, theater, and film, especially for the more theoretical aspects of those fields as they converge with or derive from literary and linguistic theory. Includes articles from 1963 to the present. For earlier years consult the printed volumes in the Watson Reference Dept. (Z7006 .M64)
D. Hispanic American Periodicals Index (HAPI) ONLINE
HAPI is an online index to journal articles from approximately 400l journals published around the world that regularly contain information on Latin America. It covers from 1970 to the present, with quarterly uploads.
E. FIAF International Index to Film Periodicals
FIAF offers coverage of hundreds of the world’s foremost academic and popular film journals right up to the present day. May of these key titles are available here in full-text including complete runs.

A. Lexis/Nexis Academic. ONLINE
Academic Universe is one of the best sources for full-text, recent (very up-to-date) newspaper and magazine articles, including reviews about films.
B. New York Times. ONLINE
This database provides complete New York Times (1851 to 1999) online. The full text is indexed. For 1999 to the present look at the National Newspaper Index (ONLINE).
