Document Delivery Policies
Using Document Delivery
Document Delivery is a service available to KU patrons (faculty, staff, and students) where they can request KU owned articles be sent to them electronically through WebRetrieve. KU resident borrowers are NOT eligible for this service.
Items that cannot be scanned
- Books or Dissertations in their entirety
- Articles in other formats (microform, cd-rom) besides print
- Items in poor or fragile condition
Scanned copies of articles from the Wheat Law Library are available to KU patrons (faculty, staff, and students), but not KU resident borrowers. If you are not affiliated with the University of Kansas and would like to request copies of articles from the Wheat Law Library, you may do so by email at firstname.lastname@example.org, by phone at 785.864.9255, or visit their web site for more information at KU Law Interlibrary Loan
The Document Delivery service is not available to the Dykes Medical Library. To request a copy of an article from Dykes Medical Library, please place an interlibrary loan borrowing request through WebRetrieve
Scanned copies of articles from the Kenneth Spencer Research Library are possibly available to KU patron (faculty, staff, and students), depending on permissions. KU resident borrowers should contact the Spencer Library directly. For more information, you may contact the Spencer Library's Reader Services Department directly or visit their website http://spencer.lib.ku.edu/.
Document Delivery Requests
KU patrons can make a Document Delivery request by logging into WebRetrieve, and under "Request an Article" click on the "Available in KU Libs" link, which will take you to a form that you need to fill out and submit. Please provide complete bibliographic information along with the call number and location of the item.
You will receive an email notification notifying you that your articles are available on WebRetrieve. After 14 days these articles will be taken off of WebRetrieve.
We will rescan an article only under these conditions:
- Missing Pages
- Missing Text
- Wrong article was scanned
- Pages cut off
We do not authorize reproduction and distribution of any scanned copies we provide.Back to Policies Page
