Communities of Interest


Communities of Interest are formed out of a desire to provide information, support, and share practical ideas with all library staff on a variety of topics:


  • Advanced Degrees
    To help employees decide if they want to pursue an advanced degree and, if so, which one.

  • Emerging Technologies
    To provide a place for discussions of issues and ideas and continuing education opportunities for those who want to explore how to best apply new technologies to our services.

  • Instruction and Presentations
    To provide a place for discussion of issues, ideas and continuing education possibilities for those who use Microsoft Office applications.

  • Living Green
    To establish, maintain and grow a community focused on promoting sustainability efforts at home and in the workplace.

  • New USS Employees

  • Promotion from Associate to Librarian Rank
    To encourage library faculty members at Associate rank to apply for promotion to Librarian rank.

  • Sabbaticals
    To encourage eligible library faculty members to apply for a sabbatical leave. Membership will include library faculty with previous sabbatical experience.
