Bruce Coburn, Jayhawk of the Month for January 2011

To kick off the new semester and the new year, December Jayhawk of the Month winner, Eleonora Drury, passed the torch to someone she felt may not be seen, but whose impact is defintely felt.

"I really got to know Bruce Coburn when we had to go to the annex before the new Annex was built. There he went beyond the call of duty to retrieve items needed and shelve returning books and periodicals." Eleonora said. "He has worked here for decades so knows all the services and all their procedures, and helps you with any info or physical moving of items, to and from all KU libraries."

"He indirectly helps all Library patrons, not only at KU, but from all over the world through Interlibrary loan, though in an unseen way." Drury said.

"The postal service’s motto of delivering in rain and sleet and snow and heat and cold and worse is done better by someone who not only delivers in all these conditions, but (believe it or not) even sometimes works on his vacation leave. "

Stay tuned for next semester to see who Bruce chooses as the next Jayhawk of the Month.
