Letha Johnson, Jayhawk of the Month for October 2011
Letha Johnson has been announced as the October Jayhawk of the Month.
"I have always admired her unflappable professionalism," said Whitney Baker, the September winner. "She routinely works with many of the VIPs on campus, people who are used to 'having it done yesterday' and she never appears flustered by extremely timely or slightly unreasonable requests."
"She is technologically savvy, and often volunteers to explain the latest software to colleagues for whom computers are not intuitive," Baker said.
Letha has served as an ambassador for KU Libraries for a program that has brought thousands of middle and high school students into libraries, archives, and museums, delving into primary sources and gaining rich research skills before their college experiences.
For these reasons and many more, Baker was honored to present the Jayhawk of the Month award to Letha Johnson. Stay tuned to see who Letha picks for November.
