Meredith Huff, Jayhawk of the Month for August 2011

Mere weeks before the start of the fall semester, Meredith Huff has been announced as the August Jayhawk of the Month.

"She has a special knack for dealing with our students in a positive and supportive way,” said August Jayhawk of the Month Sharon Riley. “In addition to supervising seven students, Meredith has the huge responsibility of keeping up with the stacks maintenance for the Kansas Collection and Special Collections at Spencer."

Meredith, who works as a Library Assistant, does much more than her official title reveals and has recently been involved in the archive shift project in Spencer and helped organize the annual Student Appreciation Luncheon.

"She is known as the go-to person and if students can't find something, she'll go the extra distance to make sure it gets found. She is always ready to share her knowledge and make Spencer a warm, welcoming place.”

Stay tuned for next month to see who Meredith chooses as the next Jayhawk of the Month.
