Two talks by Michéle Cloonan on April 3rd - Mark your calendars!
Michéle Cloonan, dean of the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the Simmons College in Boston, will talk about the devastating effects of war on Iraq's libraries in her presentation, “Libraries and Human Rights: Iraq in the Crossfire,” on Thursday, April 3 at 3:30 pm in the Spooner Hall Commons. The lecture is co-hosted by KU Libraries and the Hall Center for Humanities.
As dean of a leading library and information science program, Cloonan, who is also the 2008 president of the Association of Library and Information Science Education (ALISE), will deliver a separate presentation to librarians and prospective librarians in the region on skills and education of new librarians. This event will take place from 10-11:30 a.m. in the Kansas Union.
