Extended hours and free refreshments for night owls at Watson and Anschutz during finals

Posted May 3, 2012

Finals week, although at the same time every year, always manages to sneak up on us. As long days turn into long nights of little sleep, students need a place to refuel, relax and, of course, study.  KU Libraries can help provide that space.

Both Watson and Anschutz Libraries have extended their hours to meet student needs during this hectic period.

Watson will remain open until 3 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Anschutz will be open 24 hours a day from 10 a.m., April 29 through 5 p.m., May 11 with extended checkout services until midnight on all nights.

Spahr Engineering Library is open noon Sundays through 8 p.m. Fridays as a 24-hour study facility through 5 p.m. on May 11.

Along with the extended hours, Anschutz, Watson and Spahr will offer free coffee and hot chocolate each night between 10:30 and 11 p.m. on Sunday, May 6 through Thursday, May 10.

KU Dining is also offering a late night breakfast at Anschutz on May 7 from 11 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. on the third floor next to the iQ Café. The menu will include made-to-order omelets, biscuits and gravy, and pancakes.

The Hawk Food Stops in Anschutz, Watson and Spahr will also have extended hours during finals; for details, visit www.union.ku.edu/schedules.shtml.
