Summer construction updates at Anschutz, Spahr, Spencer and Watson Libraries
Posted June 24, 2011
Summer is construction season on campus, and KU Libraries are no exception. Here are updates on projects in progress at four of our locations. Note: services are unaffected and will continue normally in all locations.
Anschutz Library: A contractor for IT is installing the additional 25 network connections on Anschutz level 4 to allow us to expand the number of public workstations in the Learning Studio. This project began June 6.
Spahr Engineering Library: Installation was recently completed on four additional network connections to allow expansion of the number of public work stations.
Spencer Research Library: Contractors have begun the process of dismantling the old Spencer Library reading room and environs this morning to create the remodeled Marilyn Stokstad Reading Room (learn more about this project). During the remodel, the Johnson Room will serve as the temporary reading room (level 3, on the same floor as the main lobby).
Watson Library: Work continues on the wheelchair-accessible entrance ramp, to be completed before classes begin in August. The stairs leading to the main entrance remain open as usual. Signs direct patrons to a temporary accessible entrance around the west side of the steps (the right side as you face the building).
For more information contact the service desk at your library location.
