Seventh of seven sheets shows the road from Fort Boisie to Wallah-Wallah River accompanied by excerpts from the field notes and journal of Captain Fremont. Shows adjacent topography and hydrology and tribal lands of the Nez Perce Indians. Coordinate system is diagonal on the map. Included is a table of meteorological observations.

Shows lines of land and river transportation, lines of communication, and lines of land transportation anterior to the War with Mexico of the trans-Mississippi west. Shows lines of ocean transportation to Central America and the extreme limit of the line of frontier stations in 1845. Also shows frontier stations abandoned, those still occupied, new frontier stations, and new posts recently abandoned. Shows some topography in the mountain states and major rivers of the United States.
