Possible Follow-Up to the "Alternative to Civil Service" Proposal: CCEB will organize no follow-up on the topic of the "Alternative to Civil Service" proposal.
Meeting with the Dean and the Personnel Officer: Mary Ann Baker will discuss with the Dean the possible topics that Dean Bentley may asked to address at the general meeting on the 21st of April. An update on the Watson reconfiguration will be requested and Mary Ann will strive to get Sandy Gilliland's opinion on the "Alternative to Civil Service" proposal.
Balloting for the CC Code and Guidelines Revision: Group Representatives will remind constituents on Wednesday or Thursday of the Friday, April 11th due date.
Newspaper Story Announcements: Group Representatives will poll constituents as to whether or not the e-mail announcements of newspaper stories of interest to Classified staff are desirable or not.
Preparations for Elections: Mary Ann Baker will e-mail a general notice of all available positions on the 9th or the 11th of April. In addition, Mary Ann will e-mail one "participation myth" a day while working to set up the ballot.
Preparation for the General Meeting: CCEB resolves to hold another general meeting. Watson Conference Rooms A & B have been reserved for May 21st from 1-3pm. The Dean is available to speak at this time. Mary Ann Baker will contact Lynn George regarding updated information on layoffs in light of the recent layoffs at the KU Med Center. Mary Ann will also contact Sue Hewitt to invite a representative of Classified Senate to talk about the "Alternative to Civil Service" proposal and Classified Senate's future if the proposal passes.
Organization Charts: Group I is complete. Group II needs to be updated. Groups III and IV are pending.
Group Representatives' Reports: The health of Susan Hamilton is unimproved. Thusly, she will not be returning to the University of Kansas Libraries.
Committees' Reports: Bob Marvin reports that the Planning &
Resource Committee are compiling the student budget requests to send
on to the Dean and the Dean's Council. They are gathering information
for the update n progress on the strategic plan during the past year.
Bayliss Harsh reports for Instruction Council that they are working
on a major revision of the publication titled, "The Libraries at
the University of Kansas: A Reference Guide 2001-2002."
