Spring Mini Conference
What We Have
*Nancy got the flash drive for the prize from KU supplies.
*Nancy has a black pot for the pot of gold prize and she has raffle tickets.
*Julie spoke with Tami and Sarah. They've gotten together to discuss the presentation and will supply fun, information, and fake Irish accents!
What We Need
*World Market has gold and silver chocolate coins in different sizes in the Easter section that we could use for the pot of gold. (Nancy)
*As people arrive they will get a ticket for the doorprize. We need a basket for the tickets. (Sheila) Do the drawing between the speakers.
*Send email on Friday to confirm room and catering reservation (Julie).
*Ask Denise for small supply of paper and pens. Nancy has a pack of paper. Adam will see if there's any paper available in Cataloging.
*Talk to Mike to see if he'll send a reminder email on the KU-Lib list serve to encourage attendance so supervisors will allow staff to attend. (Julie)
*Post fliers: Sheila - coffee area;
Julie - ILL entrance; Kristin - main entrance; Adam - Cataloging; Kyle - Preservation.
*Check the survey comments from the mini conference 2 years ago. (Julie)
*Tracy will send us a quiz on Monday.
*7 small candy baskets. (Sheila)
*Candy (Andy's mints, etc.) (Sheila)
Email Schedule (Bombard the groups with email advertising)
*Friday: hopefully Mike will be able to send email through the list serve.
*Monday: send groups telegraph quote and link to millennial quiz. (“This ‘telephone’ has too many shortcomings to be seriously considered as a means of communication. The device is inherently of no value to us.” - Western Union internal memo, 1876)
*Tuesday Morning: send groups handout with resources and links.
*Tuesday Afternoon: send groups reminder of free food
Miscellaneous
*Committee should wear name tags but it's not necessary for the people attending to wear them. Julie will get the nametags and shamrock stickers.
*Committee should arrive at Alderson Auditorium between 8:15-8:30.
*Mary Ann Baker volunteered to play the piano in the morning as people arrive.
