Group Reports

Group 1 (Adam):
Nothing to report.

Group 2 (Julie):

  • The door on the book drop at Watson is broken. FO is going to fix it, but in the meantime there is a note on it to use book drops at other library locations.
  • The door to room 210 must remain closed per order of the fire marshall. Unfortunately, the door is hard to open so it will be fixed so it can stay open and close automatically when the alarm goes off.

Group 3 (Sharon):

  • Anschutz:
    • Added a new lobby area on the 3rd floor that houses recreational reading.
    • There is new carpet on the 4th floor.
    • MFD's are being installed this week.
    • They are receiving 4 Mac computers for the public computing area.
    • Anschutz had its first decline in usership this year.
    • Had a fire drill last week.

Meeting Updates

Dean's KULSS (next mtg: 2/7/12): Hasn't met yet.

Concerns to Bring up with the Dean:

  • Staff development budget.
  • Staff profiles.

Miscellaneous

Staff Profiles:

  • We have 20 so far. If we send out 2 profiles every other week, we will have enough to get through the semester. People from all over the libraries sent their profile.
  • Kristin will format them before Robert sends them out.
  • Robert will include a link in the emails he sends to fill out the form for those interested in submitting a profile.
  • The first profiles will go out next Friday.

Staff Development:

  • Project management was the highest rated from the survey we sent out. Personality assessment, coping with change, and supervisor/staff relationships were the highest in "somewhat interested." Everyone look into pursuing HR options for the topics of supervisor/staff relationships and personality assessment.
  • The event could either be on March 20th, 21st, or 22nd.
  • At the next meeting we can discuss the possibility of having the sessions customized for us.
  • Several comments from the survey were about coordinating with LOSDC. Maybe we can talk to them about it when we have a plan solidified.
