Welcome to the IS Diversity Committee website! I am pleased that you are interested in our committee and that you might be thinking about joining our group. You might be wondering what sorts of things a diversity committee might do? Please feel free to peruse the website for information on upcoming and previous events, as well as pictures, previous meeting minutes. You can also contact myself or other members of the Diversity Team with any questions you might have.

We have instituted a new "traveling meeting" policy where we will try to hold our meetings in different places each month to encourage people from those particular libraries to join in the fun and festivities!

We usually try to keep several ideas in the works for events including: Brown Bag lunches, Movie Series (with snacks and discussion!), Reading Groups, and an involvement in the new and upcoming internship devoted to assisting underrepresented recent library school graduates gain valuable experience in the working world.

We are devoted to promoting diversity in the library system. If this sounds like something you could be interested in, we would love to have you as part of the team!
