Kick off the weekend at the second annual KU Campus Art Walk! Take a leisurely stroll, sample free food and drink and explore creative works by KU students, local and international artists at twelve featured locations.

"Dialogue: The Natural History Museum, Intellectual Cornerstone of KU"

DYCHE HALL, FRONT LAWN | 1405 Jayhawk Blvd.

Join Professor Ted Johnson for a discussion of the thoughtful and playful sculptures on the façade of the Natural History Museum, a beautiful building that invites us to discover and explore the whole enterprise of a university.

"Celebration: Wrap, Tap, Snap!"

KANSAS UNION, LEVEL 4 LOBBY & EAST TERRACE | 1301 Jayhawk Blvd.

Cover the Jayhawk! Add your piece of string and take part in the ceremonial "yarn wrapping" of the outdoor sculpture. Enjoy a pulsing performance by KU's African Drum Ensemble and pose with your friends for commemorative snapshots in the Art Walk photo booth.

Enjoy displays by local galleries and artists (such as Wonder Fair, Invisible Hand and SeedCo Studios). Stop by the Final Fridays table to learn about other downtown exhibit openings planned for the evening.

CAMPUS PARKING: Attendees are encouraged to park in the Mississippi Street parking garage. Off-campus guests may pick up a parking validation permit* in the Kansas Union (SUA Office, level 4) which allows for complimentary exit, free of charge. *Available while supplies last (normal rate: $1.50/hr.)

5:00 - 9:00 p.m. | Final Fridays Art Walk

On your way downtown, stop by the ECM Arts Fundraiser. Shop for paintings, pottery, jewelry, posters and other arts and crafts while you enjoy refreshments and live music from the band Sharp 9.

DOWNTOWN LAWRENCE & THE WAREHOUSE ARTS DISTRICT (just east of downtown)

7:00 p.m. - Talk with Professor Ted Johnson at the Lawrence Arts Center (940 New Hampshire)
