objects of distinctive art historical databases. Currently, artlibraries.net gives access to more than 6 million records
(as of August 2007), including a high percentage of records for articles in periodicals, conference papers, festschriften,
exhibition catalogues, exhibition books, etc.

Located at Columbia University in New York, the Avery has more than 400,000 volumes on architecture, historic preservation, art history, painting, sculpture, graphic arts, decorative arts, city planning, real estate, and archaeology.

Located in Paris, the website for this collection is trilingual in French, Spanish, or English. The Union Catalog of France (Catalogue Collectif de France/CCFr) provides a single search interface for more than 15 million documents in the three major French catalogs: the Catalog of Digitized Municipal Library Collections (Catalogue des Fonds des Bibliothèques Municipales Rétroconvertis/BMR); BN-Opale Plus (The Bibliotheque Nationale collection); and the University Documentation Catalog (Catalogue du Système Universitaire de Documentation/Sudoc).

Located in Washington, DC, this is one of the finest Asian art libraries in the United States with more than 80,000 volumes. About half of these publications are in Chinese or Japanese. While the collection is predominantly on Asian art and archaeology, it also collects items relating to the late 19th and early 20th century American painters represented in the Freer's art collections. Recently the Freer and Sackler Library's online catalog has been merged with the Smithsonian Institution Library's catalog.

Located in Kansas City, MO, the Nelson's library is a non-circulating, research library dedicated to the history of art. The Library collection of 135,000 volumes includes monographs, serials, auction catalogues, exhibition catalogues, and non-book resources. Current serial subscriptions number about 500. The collection covers all periods and media of art with special strengths in American, European and Chinese art. While the library primarily serves Museum staff, it also extends its resources and services to the community, students, faculty, collectors, scholars and public researchers.
