| The best database to search when looking for Aerospace and NASA documents is: Another great database is: The TRS gives detailed records on almost all documents, and they add to this all of the time. Many of the documents are also available online in electronic formats that you can access via the TRS. Howerver, if an online version of the paper is not available, check KU's Online Catalog for the source (AIAA technical papers; Conference proceedings; Books; etc.). If you've found an online catalog record for NASA materials, the call number will look like this: NAS 1.13: 1247 -or- NAS 1.26: 39004. These materials are shelved at the end of the call number range (at the West end of the 2nd floor). They are in order by call number. If you can't find the report there, it might be in microfiche. |
How to find NASA materials on Microfiche.
First, you must have a citation with an author and title.
It is also good to have a report number, if possible.
Go to the Aerospace and High Technology Database . >>> Search by either Author or Title or Report Number. >>> Find the citation for the document and bring up the detailed record. >>> There is an Accession Number in the record. Copy this down. It should look like: N87-543789 -or- N93-152877. Take this number upstairs to the microfiche cabinets. They are labeled according to this numbering scheme. These cabinets face the east offices. Find the drawer with the appropriate number range and look for the fiche. |
