Access to Library Services for KU Medical Center Users at Lawrence/Edwards Campus Libraries
Services available to KU Medical Center Students, Faculty, and Staff in the Lawrence and Edwards campus libraries include:
- On-site access to facilities of the KU Libraries system on the Lawrence and Edwards campuses
- Borrowing privileges for circulating collections
- On-site access to computer workstations designated as Public Access Workstations for use of the Library Catalog and electronic resources (some restrictions may apply)
- Basic reference services
- Retrieve from Shelf and Recall services with checkout from Lawrence/Edwards service desks
Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery services and off-campus access to library databases and e-journal resources are provided by Dykes Library at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

KU Medical Center Graduate Students, Medicine Students, Faculty, and Staff may check out an unlimited number of long-term loan items for four months, and may renew the items five times via the Library Catalog before returning the items to the library or bringing the items to the library to check them out again.
KU Medical Center Undergraduate Students may check out an unlimited number of long-term loan items for six weeks, and may renew the items five times via the Library Catalog before returning the items to the library or bringing the items to the library to check them out again.
All long-term loan items checked out for six weeks or longer are subject to recall at any time and must be returned within 14 days of the recall date to avoid overdue charges.
Short-term and reserve loan items checked out for two weeks or less must be returned to the library from which they were checked out by the time due in order to avoid overdue charges and in order to check them out again. Items checked out for two weeks or less cannot be renewed online.
All KU Medical Center Students, Faculty, and Staff must present a valid KU Med hangtag with a barcode and complete a Request for Library Privileges Form to qualify for library services on the Lawrence and Edwards campuses. Confirmation of KU Medical Center Status will be required on a regular basis to retain available library privileges on the Lawrence and Edwards campuses.

Cash photocopying is available at 10 cents per side. Cash microprinting is available in the Art and Architecture Library and in Watson Library at 10 cents per page. Free dot-matrix printing is available in Anschutz Library and in Watson Library for individuals who provide their own letter-size paper. KU Medical Center Students, Faculty, and Staff who need to accomplish large quantities of copying and printing should contact the Circulation Business Office (in person at the Watson Library Service Desk, 8:00 a.m.—5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; by email to email@example.com; by phone to 785.864.4715) to learn about options.
